The tour departs at 8.30am from the client’s accommodation. Upon arrival, after a short journey of about 1hour, we stop for a 15 minute break for refreshments. Visit to the Benedictine abbey of Farfa, one of the most famous abbeys in Europe and a splendid example of Carolingian architecture, with an opportunity to purchase some typical products made by the Benedictine monks themselves. We then proceed to the Franciscan sanctuary of Greccio, one of 4 in the Valle Santa, where St. Francis of Assisi created the very first nativity scene. We then stop for lunch in a typical local restaurant. After lunch, you can decide whether to visit the sanctuary of Poggio Bustone and then continue on to the St. Francis’ Way, part of the Via Francigena that passes through Latium. You can then choose whether to visit a local winery or oil mill for a wine or olive oil tasting. Then we return you to your accommodation in Rome.
